In Pennsylvania, our rights as women have gone through a spiral. As of now, we do have both medications and in-clinic procedures available for women who are unprepared or unable to have this child. PA seems to be involved seriously with reproductive services, but it hasn't been an easy road. In 1982, Pennsylvania passed the Abortion Control Act,  requiring women to give "informed consent" prior to abortions, and imposed a 24-hour waiting period for women seeking abortions, at which time the women would be provided with information regarding abortions. I found this extremely considerate of the women who will be involved in the process to think about the decision and go through it if it felt right for HER specifically.

"Roe V Wade had an intense impact on women's rights as they were falling apart in front of our eyes. This new law was put into work in specific states to refuse access to abortions in states as they are “harmful, or religiously inappropriate. Mastriano, a devout Christian who has made his religion central to his political career, has abortion views that go beyond much of the GOP. He has said he supports a total ban on the procedure without exceptions — including for rape, incest, or a medical emergency in which the parent’s life is at risk — and that he would pursue abortion policies that reflect those beliefs as governor. We have officials in office who have no remorse for sexual assualt, and it is effecting women's lives every single day."

This makes it difficult as there are people who cannot have babies, can't afford to raise a child, or even endure sexual harassment who have to go through with having a child as they are either unable to or will be reminded of a significant others abuse.

The government should not be making decisions on what the women choose. personally, I find it absurd how the government is making decisions about what we chose to do with our bodies, especially if women had endured sexual assault, or cannot financially raise a child.

The article summarized the options Pennsylvania has offered for abortion access and how PA’s governor has expanded the opportunities for reproductive services for women. Governor Shapiro had opened the doors for expanding access and care for women who may be going through an abortion dilemma in PA. In Pennsylvania with these laws, women are safer as well as their bodies. We are a part of the nation's Commonwealth’s executive order which allows out-of-state patients to find abortion care without getting arrested or in legal trouble.
