It isn't science but it was something we did in IU using the iPads. It was a lesson on Orphan Trains.i also use kahoot very often. I am currently using it as a remediation for our lower math students.

I use Socrative, Nearpod, qr codes and Google classroom very regularly. Most of my daily lessons are blended activities. Socrative allows me to gauge prior knowledge and to check for understanding throughout instruction. Nearpod also allows me to check for understanding throughout the lesson as well. My favorite app is nearpod although I continue to use google classroom more and more for communication with students and assigning of activities and being able to provide feedback to them on their work, whether it is a pic collage, ppt, or document.

I like using the board builder in tech book. I like using the disc ed information as well as uploading my own info.

I recently started class with a self starter QR code that took students to a reading that they used to begin reading about DNA. Then used nearpod to introduce notes. Then finished the class with a quick assessment through kahoot.

I use nearpod. I like the way that i can get immediate feedback and keep kids involved. I can share their work anonymously to look at both positive and negative examples.

I use nearpod frequently. Here are a few screen shots of the lists. I let the kids use fun ( and appropriate) nicknames, to allow anonymity for nonsharers. I add quizzes and drawing activities into the presentation to keep them interactive and participating

I have used the board builder to organize assignments and present them to my students. I sometimes follow this up with a Socrative quiz to check understanding.

I had the discovery ed techbook as an option for the kids to make a text book page as if they were a publisher. Attached is the assignment requirements with common core standards aligned and an example.......this attachment is a screen capture of a pdf (padlet currently doesn't support pdfs) so it is only a small section of the whole techbook page.

Students are working on making close observations, so they used hand-held microscopes to collect evidence to support their predictions. Using the photographs, they created slides in Educreations. They categorized their information and produced an informational book on their topic.

I found a really great site that is a middle school site and has lots of resources. I was looking for something on drawing ellipses to demonstrate planet orbits. I found a link to a wonderful video on YouTube that demonstrated and explained the whole process for drawing the ellipse as well as how to calculate eccentricity. Then there was also a link that had step-by-step instructions students could follow and great follow up questions to assign. So students were able to work independently with their iPads and complete the activity.

I had my students use QR codes to visit different websites and answer a series of questions at several stations uploaded this and drawings to their google drive to use as a study aide later on.
