One of them brings their own copy of Maus to school, and the group decides to incorporate the story into their project. A parent of one of the students remembers seeing Maus "On a banned list," and gets on Facebook to say, "Anyone out there in the [NAME] School district thinking schools need some parental guidance on what our kids are reading????" and starts a Change.org to "Get Maus Out of the [District]."

As it turns out, the district currently doesn't have any copies of Maus in the library...the old copies were lost, and new ones are on backorder.

The principal is working on a statement for the media and calls you to talk the issue over. She is intrigued to learn that right now; she could confirm there are no copies by the book in the library.
