I am neutral with genetically engineered salmon because on one hand, genetically engineered salmon could be good as it would make salmon cheaper. This could help people who usually don't buy salmon due to the price being able to buy it. As well as it could be more resisted to bacteria and possibly live longer. But it could also be back as the salmon possibly living longer this could mess up the food chain, and also over populate the ecosystem. So I feel that genetically engineered salmon could be a good thing, as well as a bad thing.

I agree, genetically engineered salmon can be beneficial. its hard for all salmon to be good enough to consume, but with genetic engineering it can be easier to have a more consistent amount of salmon that can be eaten. with genetic engineering salmon farms can be faster and more efficient and there would be less deaths in the salmon because of less risk of diseases. however genetically engineered salmon can have a greater chance of having a parasite, and it also makes it have a chance of being harmful to people that consume it. but the benefits overlaps the disadvantages so its better to have genetically engineered salmon.

I do not agree that the farming of genetically engineered salmon should be approved and utilized to raise food. Yes, doing this can produce salmon that has greater resistance towards disease, grows faster, and has more favorable characteristics as an economic and food product. However, despite these benefits, genetically engineered salmon could contain harmful and/or unhealthy DNA, harming consumers and damaging their health. Also, if we insert DNA into salmon, it could create an over-expression of that gene, leading to unfavorable characteristics, actually creating a less favorable organism. Along with that, if genetically engineered salmon escaped from fish farms, they could upset the ocean's delicate ecology, possibly causing the extinction of some species.

I'm in favor of farming gentically engineered salmon because it provides a sustainable food source while reducing pressure on wild fish populations. While salmon farming is a cleaner alternative to commercial fishing; it still takes nearly 3 years for said salmon to reach harvest size. Genetic engineering solves since the fish grow almost twice as fast while consuming less feed, meeting our global seafood demand while using fewer resources. By farming genetically engineered slamon, we also decrease our dependece on wild fisheries, helping ecosystems and wild salmon populations to recover. Some may argue that gentically engineered salmon could escape and disrupt wild populations, but they are usually raised in land-based tanks with containment measures, making the risk of escape and interbreeding low. All things considered, the benefits (for both us and the salmon) of gentically engineering salmon outweigh any potentinal risk, making it worth our while to do so.
