The one that stands out the most, was someone I was working with, he was a mentor to me in my arts career. We had been working together for a long time, and he asked me, 'where are you from originally?'. I gave the same answer I always do - Manchester. This wasn't sufficient for him; 'No, I mean where do you originate from?'. At this point I think I laughed. I answered, Manchester, I have always lived here. I think he may have even asked a 3rd time. To which my reply was 'My grandparents are Jamaican, if that is what you are asking me?'
