At the age of nine, Tyrone was asked where he would put a third eye on his body. He answered by stating he would put it on his forehead. He was asked the same question at the age of twelve, where he stated he would put a third eye on the palm of his hand. This newfound usage of formal thought went to Tyrone's head leading to adolescent egocentrism and his cognitive mindset changing. He often yells at his parents saying "You don't understand what I'm going through", which is due to his own personal fables. He also begins to think about his future life and what career he might want to pursue.

(Sigelman & Rider,2018).

He is very proactive at taking notes during class and reviewing the information at the end of the class to help his information retrieval. Tyrone's brain now processes information more quickly, so when he is reviewing his notes he is able to process larger amounts than younger students. This made his moral identity strengthen, leading him to staying away from the wrong crowds which could negatively affect his thinking.

Academic motivation tends to decline in adolescence, in Tyrone's case his grades are declining due to peer pressure. All of his friends are playing a sport so he feels as if he needs to pick a sport to play to fit in. His friends are also involved in partying, smoking weed, and drinking. This is causing Tryrone to compromise his morals so that he can fit in and be accepted by his friends. All of this peer pressure is distracting him from his academic responsibilities and is causing his grades to slip. In order to fix this predicament, Tyrone has to learn how to separate his social life from his school life and how to prioritize.

(Sigelman & Rider, 2018).
