1. you could genetically modify plants so that they could survive through conditions or diseases that they normally cannot survive through. This could help rebuild ecosystems and create many more possibilities.
2. Help solve hunger in poorer developing countries by genetically modifying the food to be able to survive in different conditions or last longer without it going bad helping people in areas with little access to healthy food or just food in general.
3. Cheaper way of medication, putting vaccines in fruits and vegetables is an example. People would not have to go and actually get the shot which saves time, and also it would be cheaper than getting the medicine, which would help people with less money

1. Crossbreeding with the natural population. Scientists do not know what kind of effects they would have or what crossbreeding could do. There would also be no way to effectively control them from crossbreeding if things go badly.
2. Cross Contamination between foods. Many people all over the world have serious allergies to many kinds of foods, sometimes even life threatening. Crossing many kinds of food together could create toxicity and also put certain allergens into other kinds of food cuasing people to have allergic reactions to foods they normally would not.
3. Loss of other useful genes. When farmers start growing GMO crops they usually stop growing the original version of the crop losing out on genetic variation. This could also take away some desirable traits that were already there causing the crop or plant to die from a disease it was once resistant from.

Personally for me i think the pros outweigh the cons with the potential to solve so many world issues. Sure scientists haven't perfected the idea of gmo's but soon eventually it could be pretty close to perfect and have a seriously good impact on the world but gmo's would have to be literally perfect to be super effective. i don't really see anything unethical about Gmo's because the ideas that are coming out of seem to be in everyone's best interest, but the only unethical part about it may be not telling people what they are putting into their body and leaving out the fact that it is genetically modified. As long as they say that it is i do not see any problems with it in the future.
