Impression:
Reading this makes me hungry because I also like to eat Oden especially during rainy days.

Plot:
The story is about a foreign student named, Ken. Kensan is studying 日本語 in Japan. During a conversation with some other foreign students, he recommended a book about ninjas.　One day, at 12 o'clock, he met his friend named, Sakura. Sakurasan, invited Kensan to eat ramen together. They went to a ramen shop and Sakura ordered とんこつラメーン. Kensan ordered the same. At 2 o'clock, Kensan attended his class, and there, his classmate, Manabu came in. Manabukun sit beside him, and ask for an eraser. After the class, he said goodbye to Manabukun because he needs to go to his part-time job.
Kensan is working at convenience store as a part-timer. After one customer bought something, he offered a plastic bag. The customer answer, "いいです。" Even though Kensan is a little confused about what the customer really meant, still he handed the plastic bag, then the customer refused it while saying "いいです". A lot of customers came. Whenever, he is offering something, the customer answered "おねがいします" or "いいです" most of the time. Then the last customer came in, he again, offered something as usual, but this time, the customer answered "だいじょうぶです。" And again he is confused about the customer's reply.

Impression:
I really had a good read. As someone who is also studying a foreign language (日本語), I can somewhat relate to Kensan. He is confused about some words, particulary, in this story, the "いいです" response. "いいです" may mean, "Okay" as agreeing, or "No, It's okay" as a refusal. That's why I think its better to not just only listen to the person you are talking to but also, look carefully and read their actions or gestures, so that you will know what they mean.

Plot:
This book is about かばちゃん, telling about the coming きせつの秋 or the Fall Season. かばちゃん, narrates about her travel around different places in Japan during Fall. She was surprised how the leaves turned beautifully red in color. She also saw some delicious grilled potato and pumpkin desserts lined up in town. She also saw people wearing halloween costumes in the street. Everyone was cute. Also, she saw a lot of people coming to Shibuya during halloween. She wonder which place will she go and travel next.

Impression:
This was a short narration about fall season in Japan. I am excited to experience 日本の秋 in the future. I also want to see もみじ in person, and try different おかし at Fall time.

Ｐｌｏｔ：

　This is the story about the House of Schmoe (シュモーハウス) built by Floyd Schmoe (フロイド・シュモー).
　In August 6, 1945 at 8:15 AM, The America bombed Hiroshima. A lot of people died in the bombing. Even flower, and trees are gone. The survivors' faces became black due to atomic bomb. シュモーさん heard the atomic bombing news in America. He felt sorry about the people affected. He taught that saying sorry is not enough, so he decided that he will go to Japan and do something about it with his hands. We then write a letter to a a lot of people telling asking for help in helping together the Hiroshima, and will be needing a lot of money. Many people, older and younger ones, gave their money as a help. シュモーさん, together with 3 americans went to Hiroshima. The are welcomed in the Hiroshima station by many people including the governor and the mayor or Hiroshima. They started building houses together. Many students and carpenters came to helped. The children loved シュモーさん. Many people was happy when they saw new houses were built again. The city mayor was very thankful and said that the house in the community will be named after Schmoe, but シュモーさん said that various people helped and donated money to build the house, not only him, so it is better to name the house へいわじゅうたく or the House of Peace.
　シュモーさん together with others built the community for 5 years with 20 houses in it. Various people lived there. Today, it is named シュモーホウス.
　シュモーさん always says that the war makes the faces of the people turn black, but the when we work all together, the faces will become bright. Bright faces will bring peace. You, me, and each and everyone will make peace.
　
Ｉｍｐｒｅｓｓｉｏｎ：
　This was very inspiring book. How Mr. Schmoe changed the lives of the victims in Hiroshima bombing, and how thankful the people were to him. Truly, if we all work together, we will bring peace to eachother.

Ｐｌｏｔ：
　This is a short instructural book on how to make Vietnamese roll or ベトナムのはるまき. The recipe consists of ingredients such as, rice paper, vermicelli rice noodles, shrimp and pork. You may also add vegetables such as, cucumber, carrot, spring onion, lettuce and perilla leaves. You will also need seasons like lemon juice, soy sauce, salt, garlic and chili.
First, you need to wash all the vegetables and dry. Cut the carrots and cucumber into thin strips., next is to cook the noodles and drain. You cook the shrimp as well, season it and cut into halves. Boil and season the pork next. Dip the rice paper into water until soft and lay flat. Put all the ingredients inside the wrapper nicely and roll. Serve with sauce by mincing the garlic and cutting the chili and then mix it with the lemon juice and soy sauce.

Ｉｍｐｒｅｓｓｉｏｎ：
After reading this, this makes me want to try making it and serve for my family to enjoy. Also, this reminds me of the filipino version of harumaki, Lumpiang sarriwa or Fresh Harumaki.

Plot:
This is a short story about a bunny who lives alone and lonely. Everyday, the goes to school and works part-time. It was very tiring for the bunny. And everytime the bunny comes home, sadness came as the bunny lives alone. but then everytime the bunny looks up at the beautiful sky, and see the stars and the moon, the bunny's feeling or tiredness and sadness goes away.

Impression:
I feel sympathy for the bunny, as the short story is very relatable. I study everyday, and studying foreign language (日本語) is hard., and sometimes I feel tired, exhauted and burn-out. While the bunny looks at the sky to ease her tiredness and sad emotions, I think of the positive things, and my dream of going and working to Japan, to ease my tiredness. I also think of my family, as they give me motivation and inspiration to keep me going. I can understand her as well as I also loves taking pictures of the sky. I find the sky beautiful and peaceful.

This is a story about officemates, 大川さん and 田中さん. One day, at the office, during the end shift, 田中さん ask 大川さん if he is not yet done ready to go home. 大川さん replied that he is not yet finish with his work. 大川さん asked 田中さん about his schedule for tomorrow and 田中さん replied that he has no schedule for tomorrow so 大川さん invited him to go to his house for a drink. 田中さん, since he has no schedule for tomorrow, agreed. When he arrived to 大川さん's house and ang the bell, 大川さん was surprised that 田中さん was early and replied that he cannot open the door yet as he is not yet done. 田中さん waitie for a while, then asked again 大川さん is now ready, which he answered again that he is still not yet done. Curious and a furious about the tought that 大川さん is keeping him wait outside, 田中さん suddenly opened the door, and to his surprise, 大川さん and the rest of everyone greeted him a "Happy Birthday". He was very suprised and happy, for what they did. So now, after the greetings and everyone wants to start to eat and drink, 田中さん told them "まだ”, as he wants to take a picture of the food, drinks and decors first before they start to dig in. Now 田中さん is keeping everyone wait.

Impression:
A fun short story to read. Nowadays, we also take a picture of food or drink first before eating and drinking and posting in on social medias so that everyone who can see it, will appreciate it. I myself do this too, most of the time. I bet 田中さん had a blast and was very thankful to 大川さん. I can imagine the party was fun.

Plot:

The book is about color red (赤) objects, or things in our surroundings like, tomato juice, strawberry short cake, もみじ, とおり, red traffic light, rose and sunset. And at the end of the story a red thread (赤い糸) is attached to female and male lead in the story, it means that the are destined to be together, because just by looking at the illustrations from the beginning, they' have met in different circumstances without them knowing.

Impression:

I liked how the author provided an example of red colored things and at the same time, connecting the adjective to verbs giving the readers basic sentences to learn and that can be used. The twist in ending was good too. Well written and illustrated, and can be easily understood by beginners.

This story is about the shepherd boy. Every morning, he goes to the mountains and goes home at night. Every day is always the same work for him, and doesn't interests him anymore. One day, he thought of doing something interesting by making up a story, that a wolf came in and attack his sheeps. He shouted and called out for help. The village people came but did not see any wolf. He laughs and find it interesting, so the next day, he did it once again. He shouted for help telling that the wolf is attacking the sheeps. The village people came again for help but then again, they found no wolf. He again, laughs at the situation. The following day, unexpectedly, a real wolf came into the mountain and attack his sheeps. He then cried for help. Though the village people heard him, they did not believe him anymore. The shepherd boy cannot do anything, but watch the wolf eat all his sheep.

Ｉｍｐｒｅｓｓｉｏｎ：
Though I know already about the story, because it is one of the stories from my childhood with a good moral lesson. I really like how the writer wrote the story in a very easy-to-understand type of reading. I also liked the illustration of the e-book.

The writer used the words "どうぞ" and "どうも" which can mean a lot of things like, "Thank you", "go ahead", etc, depending on the context. Although the story is short and simple, the story tells a lot. And it's interesting how a short one word like "どうぞ" and "どうも" can mean a lot of things and can tell a very simple yet fun story to read.

　I find the e-book a little short and simple for a level 2, but over all it was a good reading for beginners like me.

Answer: Can use this formula - (Month の DAI (number) の (Day of the week) Examples: To say the 1st Saturday of July we can say Shichigatsu の DAI Ichi の Doyoubi / 1st Monday of May - Gogatsu の DAI Ichi の Getsuyoubi / 1st Sunday of December - Juunigatsu の DAI Ichi の Nichiyoubi / 2nd Sunday of December - Juunigatsu の DAI ni の Nichiyoubi

2. Answer - ni imasu vs desu it means the same thing but using ni imasu is more formal, and is a nice response to the question where are you? / Example: Neko wa uchi ni imasu (The cat is in the house or existing in the house /location) vs Neko wa uchi desu. (The cat is in the house)

3. Answer - Some words like "Haru yasumi" are existing terms/words and we do not need to put の to modify yasumi. It is ok to say Haru の yasumi but the Japanese will normally say Haru yasumi because it is an existing compund nound in their language / の is used to make a noun more specific or ownership and we can also use this when expressing location of the place/person/thing
