A place where we sell leftover garments and objects (think books, furniture etc.) we get from friends, family, people we know and garments we find. Selling them as they are (second hand clothing), but also altering them to redesign them (upcycling). 

Offering workshops where we teach people how to redesign/modernize/alter to fit existing second hand clothing. Workshops like "redesign your vintage piece", "repair your favorite garment", "natural dye the  dullest garment in your closet" etc. Offering different workshops with different skills/techniques, like embroidery, pattern drawing & sewing. 

Next to that we want to give young artists we know a platform to show and sell their art. think of a cupboard system where artist can rent a cupboard in our shop, where they can sell their art. 

But also a space for cultural and educational events like jamm sessions for music, lectures and poetry. 
With a cafe space in it, with coffee and drinks and uncomplicated food (like cake & soup). Where you can sit just like in a living room space. 

Creating a physical space to share knowledge , interact and learn from one another. Why platform?
We make use of the over capacity of garments.
The majority of people have garments in their closet they don't wear anymore, or for example whole leftover closets when a person loses a lot of weight or someone passes away. 

Why circular?
By reselling, altering and updating garments, we give the garments an opportunity for a second life. So re-usage is part of our concept.

Why community-based?

-a lot of people answered that projects like these exist, but it's a unique combination to have all of these elements combined in one physical space 
-we will need permission from multiple institutes & different kinds of  licenses. 
-it could be helpful to gather a small group of people you trust for advice. A feedforward, a group consisting of multiple people from different fields, that can help with problems that you come across in their field. Think economists, bankers, but also shopowners, creatives and trendwatchers.
-we will have to look into fundings and their recuirements, to have a start capital.

Furthermore it is creating awareness, by offering educational elements like workshops and lectures.

By selling second hand clothing and using second hand materials for the workshops and alterations of garments, there will less waste created.

You can't make a direct link between CO2 reduction and this project, as it won't directly impact the amount of CO2 produced.
