A main way to be diagnosed is for doctors to look at the patient's medical history, symptoms, and physical examinations. There can also be laboratory tests that can be done. The test is done by taking a blood sample or a sample of where there is an infection. It will take a couple days for the test results to come back.

Invasive Candidiasis has a mortality rate of 40-55%. This causes it to be one of the most critical cared fungal infections that need to be taken care of in the United States. It can be caught in the early stages with tools like Candida colonisation index, clinical prediction rules, and fungal non-cultural based tests.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32990778/
