One way I am thinking about Teacher Professional Development is looking at it as an aspirational career from end to end. So are we hiring the best and compassionate individuals as teachers. Most TPD focuses on training and imparting skills and knowledge, I think there needs to be an equal emphasis on their mindsets, motivation, recognition, etc.. Professional development could be linked with career growth as well. Entry barriers to teach has to reduce and retention barriers to continue to teach has to be high to ensure it is aspirational.
