Major Lesson: The lesson I learned from this novel, is true friendship and being there for someone, can truly be a big change in one's life. No matter the skin color and the race treat each other equal. Slavery and racism plays a huge role all throughout the novel. There was huge controversy about the words used in the novel but without those words the message of the story would not be the same.
