Hi, I’m Defne! I’m an 11th-grade student at Kırklareli Science High School, and I’ve always loved exploring new ideas and working with people who share the same curiosity. I really enjoy doing research, joining projects, and taking part in social activities that make a difference. Group work gives me energy, and I like seeing how different minds can create something amazing together.

I joined the HydroHeroes project because water issues, recycling, and sustainability have always caught my attention. I’ve taken part in many events and activities related to these topics before, so when I heard about HydroHeroes, it felt like the perfect fit for me. It’s another chance to learn, share ideas, and do something meaningful about one of the world’s biggest challenges.

Since 9th grade, I’ve been actively involved in various projects, both national and international. I’ve had the chance to travel abroad twice through Erasmus and STEM programs, which helped me see how science and teamwork can bring people from different cultures together. Right now, I’m leading a research project called “Tectohive,” which focuses on earthquake prevention through architectural design. I’m also working on another project in chemistry about heavy metals in fake or cheap cosmetics and how consumers can be more aware of these risks.

I’m always open to learning, connecting with people from different fields, and discovering creative ways to make science more useful in real life. I believe every project is a small step toward a better, more sustainable world and I’m excited to keep walking that path!
