Explanation- This shows Cory is the product of the 1950s teen life. He was rebellious and wanted to play football when his father kept telling him no. All the teens in the 1950s were going through a rebellious stage of their teen years. They were doing things their parents disagreed with all the time.

Yes, I sympathize with Cory. All he wants is a supporting father. He wants someone to talk to. He wants to not have to say yes even if he thinks it's wrong. He wants to be able to say no and have a voice. I feel every kid should get with their parents. One of Cory's strengths is he has hope. He never gave up and even though he got told no he made something out of his life. His weakness is not forgiving. He is stubborn and thinks doing some things will change how it will make him.

• This quote supports the theme because In this scene it shows how Cory was asking if his father likes him and troy goes on explaining how he doesn't have to like him it is just his duty because they are family. They are blood.
