Analysis: Ross was a very close family friend of ours and his passing hit us very hard. Since then, I have become involved in the R33M foundation. I think this has affected me personally because now I have learned that whatever I am going through is not as bad as what somebody else could be going through. Ross' treatment for cancer was very vigorous but he was positive through it all. She had to have multiple surgeries to get rid of the infection and replace the hip.  As a result, she had to go through months of rehab and therapy.  

Analysis: I am very close with my grandmother so this was a very hard situation to see her go through. I sat with her as much as I could while she was resting and went to as many therapy sessions as I could. My grandmother and I grew a lot closer through this. I also grew more and more interested in the medical field.
