And I work better on physical books and notes, by writing them and reading them, keeps me focused.

Step 3: Study in the same area at all times, such as the starbucks coffee shop I have 5 mins away from my residence. The smell of coffee also helps me study, so when I have my exams, I will always have a coffee on my desk.

Skill/Method: Improve Note-taking skill

I chose this skill because my note-taking is messy and unclear, and do not help with my studying. So instead, I usually push my notes to the side, and speed read through the textbook.

By incorporating this skill I hope to write clear notes and create more visuals and diagrams to help me understand better.

Step to incorporating this skill

Step 1: The first step would be to focus on main ideas, key relationships, key similarities and differences. Creating cornell notes could bring out the important parts, instead of just reading the entire chapter over and over again.

Step 2: Create visuals, diagrams, and illustrated images to help me understand events such as timelines, and examples w/ pictures, will help me remember my notes and points.

Step 3: Because verbal and nonverbal is essential to learning, according to the dual-coding theory, by psychology professor Allan Paivio in 1971. So, not just focusing on written notes, I think verbal is also important, including rehearsal.

Skill/Method: Metacognition

I chose this skill because during some quizzes or practises, not matter how hard I study, there's always these 1 or 2 questions I don't know how to answer, so I would leave it blank or guess my way through it.

By incorporating this skill I hope to understand test questions better, instead of just guessing them or leaving one blank, while I kno whow to answer the others.

Step to incorporating this skill
Step 1: Analyze what you did to study for quizzes and tests and whether or not it worked. This could be efficient for your next quiz, so that you'll be prepared and know what to study for.

Step 2: This could include your study methods. Analyze what you did to learn the information and whether or not it worked. If how you studied last time did not work well, you could change it to suit your study habits, and prevent the bad habits. You could invite a study partner, or other ways to help you study and remember better.

Step 3: Going over your past homework practises and quizzes. Analyze why you did well with one type of question or concept but struggled with another. I t could be that you don't understand the question, so the best was would be find similar practices to the same question. Or it could be that you had visual notes to help you remember, either way you should always practises for the amount of concepts, you should go over the ones you struggled, and list out what you did wrong. and work on that particular fault.
