1. Theology of the Body

Dating is commiting to a person while hooking up is just an experience or for pleasure purposes. When individuals hook up and seek their own pleasure, respect and generosity are ignored. The gift of human sexuality is lowered to selfishness when people hook up just for their own pleasure. A covenant is a bond or promise between two individuals, and it is not part of the hooking up experience. Hooking up before marriage or just for pleasure goes against what God intended for us. God gave us the gift of human sexuality and we make a covenant with God and another individual when we get married. Hooking up can have consequences, and it can lead to addiction and selfishness. We must be modest and chaste, meaning we should be respectful, and committed to our significant other if in a relationship or marriage.

2. Protecting Life

Protecting life means we look for the good of others and look out for the vulnerable. God created us to share his creation and to procreate. We are one through God's eyes, and we must respect and take care of all life. We call upon faith, generosity, responsibility, and morality when we say we protect life. Legalized abortion, or assisted death, go against the protection of life. All lives matter and everyone deserves the gift of life. Abortion and assisted death take away that gift and go against God's intentions. We must protect and look out for the vulnerable and remember that everyone deserves to live. To say abortion or assisted death is a valid choice, we are going against the meaning of protecting life and this point of view prioritizes our own life and own needs. This point of view is selfish and it cancels out distributive justice. Abortion is the opposite of distributive justice. We must help others whose needs may not be met completely or correctly, and look out for others, not only ourselves.

Distributive justice is looking out for the vulnerable and helping others whose needs may not be met. This kind of justice prioritizes the vulnerable and helping others in need. It is helping those who may not have their needs met completely. This justice is important for someone who cares about morality because it goes along with morality. Distributive justice allows us to reach out to those in most need first. Distributive justice is part of my service project. An example would be when I helped take care of animals who didn't have all their basic needs met. Some animals needed a little more attention and help, and my role was to help them and help the volunteers at the animal shelter (where I did my service project). There was a dog who had weak back legs and needed a support cart to help him, and I was able to interact with the dog and give him attention. There was also another dog that was older and couldn't see. I was also able to interact with this dog and give him love and attention. I also cleaned the room and gave him some fresh bedding, food, and water. Just like some people need an extra push or extra help, some animals do too.
