Day 1: Daily Routine as a Receptionist

Assalamualaikum fairies! On 21 March was my first day for my internship. I was assigned as a receptionist for 3 days. There are plenty of important things that need to be done in the everyday morning. Daily tasks as a receptionist are listed down below:
1. Receiving visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing, and announcing them appropriately.
2. Ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material. (newspapers and brochures)
3. Read every newspaper and find any article related to Tourism Pahang and Tourism Malaysia.
4. Answering and forwarding incoming phone calls in professional phone etiquette. Phone etiquette is the way you use manners to represent yourself and your business to customers via telephone communication. This includes the way you greet a customer, your body language, tone of voice, word choice, listening skills, and how you close a call.
5. Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, and faxing.

Day 2: Farewell Party for (Anas, Ain, and Irfan) Past Internship Students

Day 2 went well for me too. I further suiting myself well as a receptionist. The staff there, Kak Hana taught me a lot about everything that a receptionist should do. She started to release some of her jobs to me so that I can learn how I should handle every task I got.

On 24 March, Mrs. Zahirah sent me to Administrative Department. As far as I foresaw, Administrative Officers manage the daily task of an organization by providing administrative and clerical support. The first duty that I was allocated to do was make a phone call to Perbadanan Kemajuan Bukit Fraser to ask about staff information to update in Klinik Panel PKBF. What is Klinik Panel?

The selected panel clinics to provide medical treatment for any Insured Person under SOCSO due to 'Employment injury ’ are known as Panel Clinics (Insured Persons) SOCSO.
'Employment Injury' defines as an employee whom meets with an accident or occupational disease during the course of and arising out of his/her employment at workplace.

Day 5: Work Halfday

Bad news to end our Friday, during our lunch break all staff are required to vacate the office because one of the staff was detected to be positive Covid. May Ms. Shahidah get a good rest and I'm looking forward to see you back at the office when you are ready <3

As an exhibitor, I was able to assist them by disseminating useful information to them.

Pahang is the largest state, geographically, in eastern (peninsular) Malaysia and is one of several states that retain their own sultan. “Hol” means an annual banquet, and Hari Hol, in Pahang, remembers the state’s fourth reigning sultan, named Abu Bakar. He was the father of another sultan, Ahmad Shah, who has also passed away. Hari Hol Pahang has been a public holiday since 1974.

On Hari Hol Pahang, all workers are given a holiday. People with a sense of pride in Pahang’s sultanate take time to honour the memory of Abu Bakar.

Pine Tree Hill Trail is the longest trail in Fraser's Hill and also the most challenging.

The trail was started during the British era to gain access to a mountain peak that commanded a majestic view of Fraser's Hill and the surrounding summits. The trail is 5.5km long and most people take 7 to 8 hours to trek to the summit and back again.

I have visited the start of the trail and this is what is written on the notice boards at the trail head:

The Mossy Trail (5570m) 7 Hours Walking

This trail offers seasoned hikers a healthy challenge to test their endurance and also rewards them in terms of the variety of flora and fauna of the lower montane forest. It is also the start of what is called the 'mossy forest'. Trying to complete the trail is not recommended for the unfit and inexperienced. Be prepared to spend a full day on this trail if you are a nature buff and for the inexperienced trekker, please use an experienced guide to hike the distance.

Today was our first day working in the Pahang Tourism and Culture Department (Pejabat Hartanah). It is safe to say that we did not accomplish much while we were still here in the office. We just wanted to say hello and see how things were run around here.
