A lot of people for women's rights were abolitionists as well. For instance, Harriet Tubman and Sojourner Truth were both for abolishment of slavery and women's rights. Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton wee also abolitionists. Infact, because of their gender they were not allowed to speak at the antislavery convention. This made them very angry and they decided to take action. They hosted the Senca Falls Convention. Others that contribute to the success of the women's rights movement are Lucy stone and Susan B. Anthony.

The action that these reformers took were similar to those of the abolitionists. They held conventions to discuss their ideas and proposals. They wrote letters to congress to express their concerns. They even created then Declaration of Sentiments which was an added part to the Declaration of independence but stating the rights that women should be granted. This was created at one of their own conventions .
