Palesa consistently favours her left hand, demonstrating her developing hand dominance.

Palesa holds a pencil and a paintbrush correctly and enjoys pressing out shapes in playdough. She can tear tissue paper into small pieces and is able to dress and undress herself independently. Palesa loves crawling through the tyres on the jungle gym and can slide down the fireman’s pole without assistance. She walks up and down stairs with ease and is able to move forwards, backwards, and sideways confidently. Palesa matches sounds to pictures and can distinguish between soft and loud music. She is able to recall sounds and repeat them accurately. She can sing several simple songs from memory and listens attentively during group activities. Palesa’s auditory development is progressing very well, and she is becoming increasingly confident in recognising and responding to the different sounds in her environment.

Palesa can sing some songs in Afrikaans and eagerly participates in each activity. She often repeats and copies words or sentences that she hears, which helps to strengthen her language skills. She also makes a genuine effort to pronounce the isiZulu words we learn each week correctly. I am so proud of you, Palesa, for your enthusiasm and dedication to learning new languages.

Palesa can identify most of the phonic sounds taught this year. She has made a fantastic effort in writing her name and demonstrates a correct pencil grip. She can move confidently in different directions, such as in zig-zag patterns, and understands that writing progresses from left to right.

Palesa recognises the numbers from zero to ten and can confidently count backwards from ten to zero. She traces numbers accurately in dot-to-dot activities and enjoys matching numbers to pictures. Palesa is such a kind and loving little girl. She is always smiling and a joy to have in the classroom. She sets high standards for herself and consistently achieves them. I have thoroughly enjoyed Palesa’s sense of humour and her cheerful presence throughout the year. She has worked very hard and I am proud of all her accomplishments.
