You will be creating your own scenario where you use these ideas to solve a different problem.

Please create a document or your own padlet to describe a different scenario and how you would use your knowledge of elements, mixtures, and compounds to solve it.

A cop stopped a women on the highway because she was speeding . He asked her for her license and restitution . Then the officer ask her to get out of the vehicle . Well she was getting out a black bag fell from her lap on to the floor. The officer picked it up and looked inside of it , he found white powder with black spots in it .

My element was the powder. my compound was the powder and the black stuff. The mixture was the same as the compound , but can be separated .

Scenario: A person needs to know if the ice cream he ordered has nuts in it. He can't have them because he's allergic.

Steps: He can sift through the ice cream to see if there are any chunks of nuts in it.

How I used elements, mixtures and compounds:

The mixture was the ice cream and nuts.

Scenario: the cop have a bag of thick solid,green leaves with white powder at the bottom and he need to know what are those.

Step: i will sift everything in the bag to separate the leaves and the powder,and ask the man what is it. The i will do some test.

to find out what it was the element was a liquid and when adding baking soda to where it was burning would causing the area to bubble up and take away the burning.

John works at a restaurant that offers a variety of soups, a customer has just asked for specifications on an order involving the chicken noodle soup. He asks for no vegetables and only the chicken , noodles and broth. The soup usually comes with carrots, celery, chicken and noodles.

1. Go into the kitchen and tell the cooks about the specifications.

2. Verify that the order is correct by checking the soup by mixing it to make sure no vegetables are visible so the customer is satisfied.

The mixture would be the chicken noodle soup because of the fact the soups ingredients can be separated.

The compound would most likely be the stainless steel pot which would be used in order to cook another batch made specifically for the customers taste.

You walk into a friends house and see them laid out across the floor. As you try to figure out whats wrong, you find a needle on the counter nearby, you don't know if he was drugged or if this was self inflicted. I quickly called 911 and checked for a pulse, it was faint but still existent. As I picked up the needle, I saw a dark colored subs

ance. The substance was a compound so it could be separated or broken down.

Scenario: You are allergic to raisins. I wants to buy mixed nut but I know they have raisins in them sometimes.

Steps: I needs to sift though the mix nuts and see if there is any raisins.
