Project build week two

Today we will be continuing with the build of our four projects - the goat enrichment area/platform, a recycled and a new bird table, wooden planters for the car park and a new obelisk for the garden.

In particular we will focus on teamworking - Making sure every voice is heard - and look at how we develop and share our own skills with others in the group.

Roles, quality and risk assessment - all of these are an integral part of each project, and should form part of the team briefings each week. Also remember to check your time management - are you on track, how do the next few sessions break down, do you need to make adjustments? Time spent planning is never wasted and brings everyone into the team with confidence to move forwards.

Finished garden decoration, concreted into an old tyre for stability and will be used to hang things on in the garden. Looks great and very sturdy design, some great ideas in the plan helped this come together so well.

The group added a hinge to keep the two logs together while the concrete sets. Can be removed later if required, really good idea!

Nearly there - the goat enrichment toys are getting their finishing touches, some small adjustments to height and a final coat of woodstain preservative.

Lewis helps to dismantle the old goat platform to make way for the new enrichment toys! He is carefully taking screws out of the old wood with a manual screwdriver so that the wood can be stored safely for another upcycling project.
