For me I draw inspiration from my spiritual path and background. For four years I lived in an ashram (Hindu monastery) and studied ancient Eastern texts like the Mahabharat and Srimadbhagavatam. I draw inspiration from the wisdom of these teachings and from my own spiritual teacher.

Brook's Reading

One of the valuable takeaways I got from the reading was the difference between competition and the autonomous approach to formal assessment. I think each has a different motivation and the author makes valid points about the questionable practices of traditional assessment.

In the context of my own education, I remember all the students (myself included) checking grades with peers to see how each did. This acted as a sense of self-esteem and self-value that didn't truly reflect who we are as people.
