         <description><![CDATA[<div>Language: <br>- Provide functional and practical fun activities for the student.<br>- Work at the student's pace and encourage reading and writing daily.<br>- Use the child's interests in speech.<br>Speech:<br>- Find a way for the student to ask for help. Use good speech when speaking to the child. Find a peer-buddy for the student and encourage participation. Do not forget to have patience. <br>Academics and Review:<br>- Provide a quiet spot and reduce unnecessary classroom noise. Provide verbal and visual cues. When doing activities modify for the student and allow extra time because of distractions. If needed allow them to tape lectures. <br>Physical:<br>- Speech language and related skills may be affected if childrden have muscular disorders, hearing problems or developmental delays. Make sure there are effective ways to communicate.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Autism Spectrum Disorder:</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It is a developmental disorder that affects communication and behavior. People with ASD have difficulty interacting with people. They have repetitive behaviors and symptoms that hurt the persons ability to function i life. <br>Signs of ASD:<br>Avoids eye contact, prefers to be alone, and struggles with understanding other peoples feelings. They remain nonverbal or have delayed language development. Repeats words or phrases. Gets upset by minor changes in a routing. There's no known cause for autism. Scientist suggest that a faulty gene or genes when there's not any other factors present. Autism can be detected by the age of two but yo can be tested at any age. Working with a doctor can help find the best treatment. If needed they may prescribe medication to teat common symptoms of autism. There are programs that may help people with ASD learn how to build upon strengths, communicate better with people and learn life skills necessary to living independently. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Autism Spectrum Disorder: Communication Problems In Children</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- ASD is a developmental disability that cause social, communication, and behavioral challenges.<br>- It can affect anyone but it is five times more common in boys than girls.<br>- ASD affects communication by poor nonverbal conversation skills. They have uneven language development with  narrow interests and exceptional abilities. Often children have repetitive and rigid language.<br>- Speech and language problems of ASD are referred to speech-language pathologists. They teach children with ASD to help communication skills to reach their full potential. There are many programs but the best ones begin early and is fitted to the child's interest.<br>- Research is being conducted by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIH) that help fund autism. Together there are five institutes with in the NIH. (NIMH, NIDCD, NICHD, NIEHS, and NINDS) You can get additional information available on the NIH health information page by searching on the term "autism."</div>]]></description>

         <title>Stuttering: Straight Talk For Teachers</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Some kids with speech problems feel worried, confused, frustrated, and sad.<br>- Stuttering isn't a psychological problem.<br>- It can impact students academically and socially.<br>- What teachers can do? Be patient, do not finish sentences for them and treat them the same as other students. <br>- In speech therapy kids learn techniques on how to manage their stuttering in different ways using speech tools.<br>- Check with the child on more difficult days to se how they want you to handle the situation. Give extra time for oral presentations.<br>- Talk to the other students about their classmates stutter. <br>- Let students know your happy they are in your class and their stutter does not bother you.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Psychological Perspective Of Communication Disorders:</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Include problems related to speech, language, and communication. Speech allows people to communicate and express themselves. Early detection for communication disorders is the key to successful treatment. Communication disorders that have been outlined in the DSM-5 include:<br>-Language Disorder: Disorders that involve the processing of linguistic information.<br>- Speech Sound Disorder: Speech that's language are either not produced, not produced correctly, or not used correctly. <br>- Child-Hood Onset Fluency Disorder (Stuttering): Involves frequent and significant problems with normal fluency and flow of speech.<br>- Pragmatic Language Impairment: Social communication disorders have difficulty using language in social situations because of problems with pragmatics which is how meaning is created and interpreted in-verbal and nonverbal interactions.<br>- Some causes of communication disorders: hearing loss, brain injury, vocal injury, autism, drug abuse. The best treatment for a communication disorder is to focus on prevention and early intervention.<br>- Speech-Language Pathologist may recommend  at-home activities, group, or individual therapy.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Speech disorders include the clarity, voice quality, and fluency of a child's spoken words. Language disorders include a child's ability to hold conversations, understanding others, read and problem solve, and express thoughts through words. In order for students to succeed in school they learn through communication. Spoken and written language provides the foundation of reading and writing. Children may have a communication disorder if they perform poorly at the academic level, struggle reading, and misunderstand social cues. Difficulty in learning to listen, speak, read, or write can result from language development. Students with reading and writing problems may find it hard to use language to communicate, thing, and learn.<br>- Speech-Language Pathologist work with everyone involved with the individual. They integrate students communication goals with  academic and social goals. Pathologists can help children become effective communicators, problem-solvers, and decision-makers. They can help children find meaning in their lives by helping them overcome their disability.</div>]]></description>
