Where Ive Been.

My name is Silas Roth Sawatzky,

I was born in Atlanta Georgia where I spent the first five years of my life. My parents were not the most financially stable at the time so when the 2008 recession hit we had to move in with my aunt and uncle in Goshen, Indiana. Shortly after we settled down and lived there for about four years. Our family then moved to Harrisonburg for my mothers job where I spent most of my childhood. I attended. private school where I made a lot of friends and got to travel a lot. My friends family I took a trip to The Netherlands which was my first major trip without my parents. I also got to go to Puerto Rico with my touring choir. Two summers ago I also went to Costa Rica for my grandparents 50th anniversary which was the most beautiful trip in my life. Last summer I went to New Zealand with my family because my brother was going to school there. The picture is me on the south island in New Zealand.

My Family

Family is very important to me and it always has been. My mother is named Rachel Roth Sawatzky and she works in student life at University of Michigan. My mom is pretty similar to me which lead to lots of disagreement as a kid but we have a great relationship now and we are very close. My dad is named David Roth Sawatzky and he is a carpenter for Ann Arbor Remodeling. My dad used to own his own company but with a decline in business when we came he started working for someone. My middle brother is named Asher and he is a junior at Huron High School. Asher and I are very close and he shares a lot of my nerdy interests. My littlest or baby brother in the photo is Jethro. Jethro is ten years younger than me so we don't have much in common but we have the best relationship ever. As for my grandparents, they live in Goshen, Indiana and Wichita, Kansas and I am very close with them as well.

My Passion for Animals

One thing that you should know about me is that I am very passionate about what I love. My first love will always be animals. Ever since I was a baby I have been obsessed with animals. Before I even knew how to speak all my favorite things were animal related through the years I have owned animals from goats to toads. right now I have five pets. In the picture you can see my pet salamander "Jumbo" which is my most recent addition to the family. I have a boy and a girl crested gecko named "Robin" and "Franky" after my favorite anime characters. I also have a long haired hamster named "Gus" which was my oldest pet I have who I hold very dear to my heart. Our family dog is named "Cash: after Johnny Cash because he is "The Man in Black". Because animals are my passion I feel very deeply for the environment and want to dedicate my life to saving it. Due to this fact I have majored in conservation biology and would love to be a farmer someday.

Future Plans

My future plans have always been something I think about. A long time ago I wanted to be a lawyer for many years because I thought I was good at arguing. Though I am good at a lot of things I have now choose to follow my passion. I plan to work for the environment someday because I believe that is the most important problem in our society today. If my dream for the environment does not call out to me later in life I hope to be a farmer. I would love to be able to live off the grid and become my own ecosystem. Hopefully I will do all this with my wonderful partner, Rahel. Rahel and I met in 2021 and have been dating ever since. Rahel means a lot to me and a recap of my life and what is important would not be complete without including her. I would love to live outside the USA someday which is also a dream of mine. Rio De Janeiro is probably my dream location to live but I am openminded to many other places.
