Sarah has a valid defence because just recently she discovered that her insurance did not pay the hospital bill and that she has outstanding debt with them, furthermore by her paying the R 3000 she admitted to the debt she just now knows she owes making it a valid defence because it cannot be outstanding if she has no knowledge of the debt but that is yet to be proven.
