He owed $40 for the rental, freaked out and made Netflix. The history of the most popular service.

(After reading a fascinating article about Netflix, I want to write a my opinion about it and also share some interesting facts.)

How was the giant of our world "Netflix" founded? Interesting question, isn't it. If you're ready, let's get started.

"Think of any night last month when you weren't watching Netflix. What did you do instead? Sports broadcasts, the gaming industry, watching analog TV, social networks — we compete with all this. We compete even with sleep. Although we are just a very small player on the field of struggle for time and entertainment"
Quote from Reed Hastings, founder of Netflix, in an interview with the Financial Times.

Yes, as you noticed, Reed Hastings is the founder of Netflix. Netflix is an American entertainment company, a provider of movies and TV series based on streaming media.
As you can see that this is such a strong company that it is compared even with a human dream.
In the mid-1990s, Reed Hastings owed a video rental company $40 for late return of a rental videotape with the film "Apollo 13", telling about an unsuccessful lunar mission. After that, Reed Hastings came up with a new, convenient way to rent videotapes. Instead of paying for each film separately, the client pays $40 per month and during this time takes four of any films. That's how the Netflix era began.
As a reader, I am inspired by the stories of large companies, how they did not break down, they only went forward against the current.

The thing about Netflix was that you didn't have to go anywhere to get the discs, they were sent directly home by mail. It saves time. That's when they were already thinking about the value of time, unlike other companies.

Also, to warn yourself against dishonest, arrogant customers, a new disk could be obtained only after the return of the old one. As the Netflix book says, "No Rules: Netflix's Unique Culture." As for me, this is uniqueness, individuality, difference, sometimes even madness.

The service is becoming more and more popular, leaving its competitors far behind and setting an example for them. Some film critics fear the decline of the film industry due to online cinemas, but it was they (and, in particular, Netflix) who saved the film industry from a severe crisis during the pandemic, when all cinemas were forced to close.
The company continues to produce projects, attract new viewers to its customers, launch in new markets and leave its mark on the film industry.
As a fan of Netflix the article seemed interesting to me, recognizable, it was nice to realize that these people started their careers with just $ 40.

Why does Japan have so few children?

1. Theme: Why does Japan have so few children?
In the video we can see how they treat each other respectfully without interrupting each other's words. They judge with an objective point of view and give examples.

2. Thesis and arguments
Thesis: The number of children in Japan is now at its lowest level since 1950.

Three keywords stand out: Japan, low, 1950.

Arguments:
According to the official data from the Wikipedia website, the number of births as of 1950 was 2,337,507 babies.
From an objective point of view, we cannot consider her words valid. Because we can see from the official data on the "Wikipedia" site that the number of births in 1949 was 2,696,638 babies and is the highest year of births. Then gradually since 1949 the number of births decreased starting from about two million. So we can't consider that exactly since 1950 the number of births in Japan decreased, together this as a big indicator, we can use 1949 as the highest number of births and the sudden decrease in the number of babies born.

Stephanie Hegerty - BBC news correspondent on global population argues that the decline in child birth rate is a global trend and as an example presents Japan as one of the developed countries with a developed economy and it is Japan that has one of the highest rates of women in the workplace.
She also mentions China, South Korea as also having problems with the number of births of children at the end of the word.

She explains the reasons for the reduction of children
First of all, that women work and are part of the workforce and choose to delay having children. And as an example, she said she saw an image of young children sitting at their mothers' desks under their desks in the workplace.
Second, financial hardship. She explained financial hardship as such that child care is not easily available.
Third, the gender imbalance. She compared that in the U.S., Japanese men spend two and a half hours a day doing housework, whereas in Japan it is 41 minutes a day. And we can see that while Japanese men spend little time on housework, the rest is left to Japanese women. This means a lack of time for themselves, for work, physical and maybe also psychological pressure as "compulsion".
Fourthly, she says about the culture of work, that women have to spend quite a bit more time at work.

On weproject.media we can see that wages are different for men and women. A man can take maternity leave, but then a woman's salary will not be enough to provide for her family. So this proves that women's wages are lower than men's and there is a gender inequality.

3. Resource: BBC news, YouTube.
Because the video was posted on a large news portal, many people watch the video.
(More than a million views.
Posted on May 7, 2022,4 months ago
16 thousand likes)

4. Target audience: everyone.

5. Conclusion
To summarize, I can say that the video is informative. The fact that the video was published 4 months ago and more than a million people watched it, tells us that the video is relevant to this day. But the video shows few examples for new arguments and the person watching may simply not believe the words spoken. This video has an impact on society, on the structure of countries in the world, on politics, on demographics.
