Jump scares can be made by using silence with a loud and unusual noise such as a scream or bang that follows. Another way it can be made is by creating an unusual scene and making it appear out of nowhere straight after silence. This technique is very effective, as it is surprising and unexpected. Some people that watch horror films find it pleasing when jump scared. They like the feeling they get when scared.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFTjyZfsR_0

Sound can be used to create tension in a horror film therefore leading to a jump scare or something like that. It is also used to show the mood of the scene (Tensive, happy) Although there is a wide range of music that has been used in different horror films, some of the more common sounds/music are isolated instruments which creates the feeling of vulnerability in the audience. Long suspenseful notes which contrast effectively with sharp notes which surprises and shocks the audience. Dramatic change in pitch of the notes. This immediately changes the atmosphere and makes the scene more tense.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTk_uNKQtf8

While filming a horror film, the angle in which you record is crucial in order to create a very well filmed horror movie. Using different angles when filming also creates the illusion which makes the audience feel like they're in the film itself. As a horror film maker, you want to strike fear into the audience, and one of these feelings is claustrophobia. A way this can be achieved is by filming close ups when for example a character is getting attacked or when the character is having problems breathing. This makes the audience feel a bit cluster phobic, as if they where struggling to breath themselves, or if the character is helpless and vulnerable and something bad is about to happen to them... the audience will also feel like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QO0gZrQw9KU
