Using different angles when filming also creates the illusion which makes the audience feel like they're in the film itself. As a horror film maker, you want to strike fear into the audience, and one of these feelings is claustrophobia. A way this can be achieved is by filming close ups when for example a character is getting attacked or when the character is having problems breathing.
