Drawing as a form of communication

Over the centuries, drawings have been used to communicate and to help people to express their creativity. Even today, drawings have changed a little and they still have the same purpose.

My name is Aleksa Maksimovic and I am very big fan of drawing. I was always interested to know how people communicate through their drawings in the past, what are the different skills or what skills do I need to have to make an accomplishment like this. This is the main reason why I selected this topic.

Below you will find my full inquiry of how drawings are used, what are their meanings and how we use them to express ourselves, our feelings and our creativity. For this, I even created my own logo.

My logo is representing multiple messages. The pencil, represents that we use long-lasting trend of drawing to strengthen our minds. The head represents, how we think what we are trying to say in our drawings (along with the gears). And finally, the colors of the rainbow ring represents all the ways we can express ourselves.

This part of my journey, presents main subjects/ resources of my topic. The subjects define how we express ourselves through drawing. This Transdisciplinary theme is divided into three major topics also known as line of inquiries:
1. LOI 1 - Form/Function - An Inquiry Into how drawing is used as a form of communication.
2. LOI 2 - Change - An Inquiry Into how drawing has evolved as a form of communication and creativity.
3. LOI 3 - Prespective - An Inquiry Into people's viewpoint of drawings as a meaningful form of communication.
The last two explain which learner profiles I used and which skills were required to achieve my objective and complete my lines of inquiry.

I have discovered that every drawing sends some message and either they were used for fun or for communication.
The last slide contains the different forms of drawings that exist.

For that reason, I have created a small survey to interview people to here their opinion. However, I didn’t complete this journey on my own. I had a teacher mentor, two student mentors, and my general teacher, to support and guide me during my work. I would like to thank them all for their efforts on helping me. So, thank you, Mr. Stephen Hurren, Ms. Lyndsey Dianne Hardy, Mrs. Anna, My student mentors, Uditi Malik and Bhatt Kangna.
