Respected Teachers, students and the audience, wishing you all a very happy morning. Today, I am going to speak for the motion. " TECHNOLOGY MAY SEEM TO BE OUR BEST FRIEND, BUT IT MAY SOON TURN INTO OUR FOE IN WAYS THAT WE CANNOT IMAGINE. "

ABUNDANT RESOURCES ON EARTH; YET, THERE IS A DANGER OF EXHAUSTION OF RESOURCES DUE TO OUR RECKLESSNESS AND GREED.
INCREASED USAGE OF TECHNOLOGY AND GADGETS CAN LEAD TO THE DECLINE OF THE HEALTH OF AN INDIVIDUAL.
OUR FUTURE GENERATION WOULD SUFFER DUE TO OUR IRRESPONSIBLE ACTIONS.
JEALOUSY IS A TRAIT THAT MAY CHANGE A PERSON AS A WHOLE. ONE MUST AVOID BECOMING GREEDY OR JEALOUS IN ORDER TO TRULY BE HAPPY AND CONTENT IN LIFE.
WE NEED TO BE SELF-CONSCIOUS IN OUR DEEDS IN ORDER TO TRULY OVERCOME THIS PRESSING ISSUE CAUSED BY CONSUMERISM.

1)“There is sufficiency in this world for man’s needs but not for man’s greed’’, said Mahatma Gandhi.
2)As the more needs you have the more your mind is occupied in fulfilling them; and when the fulfillment is thwarted, the pain ensues.
3)The greed to have more becomes an obstacle when we start allowing material things to control us.
4)Excessive desire for things is any-way considered immoral, a violation of natural or divine law.
5)When we learn to control our needs we not only minimize our suffering and pain but are able to be at peace with ourselves and be happy and appreciate the little things that have been bestowed on us.

i. Controlling our Urge to buy luxury products will help in lot of ways, like saving money.
ii. It is indeed true that some things that was considered luxury yesterday became the necessity today. But, we can live without some of the things that people nowadays are continuously demanding ; Like Alexa, Smart Watches and So on.
iii. Saving money without buying unwanted luxuries can make us to buy things that are very much essential.

If we do not control our needs, it leads to depletion of resources and will not be available for the future generations.
Fulfilling all our needs will make us feel luxurious but not happy.
Things which were luxuries back then have become basic necessities at present. To fulfill all these necessities, people are wasting a lot of money.
People have become so selfish and also jealous. We are not satisfied with what we have and we want to afford things which we cannot afford but just because someone else has afforded it.
Controlling the usage of our resources instead of using it for unnecessary purposes leads to the development of our country.
