The sun in the sky stand all
Giving radiant heat for all
Hunting down the sea
Toes in the sand, feeling free
Pushing away the thoughts of fall

I wrote this for the season of summer. Summer is a care free time for kids in school. Just the simple things you can get from it like a warm breeze or the warm water of the ocean. In my life a lot of memories came from the summer, all the mistakes and laughs that it gave me to hold for the rest of my days.

I've looked for love in every stranger
Took too much to ease the anger
All for you, yeah, all for you
I've been running through the jungle
I've been crying with the wolves
To get to you, to get to you, to get to you

I chose this lyrics for what the represent for me. They show in my eyes the fight she gave for someone she loved. It shows the pain and distance someone would go for another. That she was going to get back to this person no matter the cost. Which I can connect to on a personal level.

I've known the air that brings new life to take away my breath. I've watched the shadows turn to black and over-take the light.

I had to sing this song in choir, and I instantly fell in love with it. The words have such a deep meaning behind them. The section of lyrics I pick really spoke to me. They tug hard at my heart. And they demand your attention.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath, Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

I like a lot of Sonnets, but the comparisons are just beautiful to me. The way she opens up in the poem. You almost feel like she is talking to you and making you believe her. She also shows through everything that happens between them she will always love him.

Because I could not stop for Death –
He kindly stopped for me –
The Carriage held but just Ourselves –
And Immortality.

We slowly drove – He knew no haste
And I had put away
My labor and my leisure too,
For His Civility –

We passed the School, where Children strove
At Recess – in the Ring –
We passed the Fields of Gazing Grain –
We passed the Setting Sun –

Or rather – He passed us –
The Dews drew quivering and chill –
For only Gossamer, my Gown –
My Tippet – only Tulle –

We paused before a House that seemed
A Swelling of the Ground –
The Roof was scarcely visible –
The Cornice – in the Ground –

Since then – ‘tis Centuries – and yet
Feels shorter than the Day
I first surmised the Horses’ Heads
Were toward Eternity –

Emily Dickinson has such a great mind set in my opinion. She had such a great understanding of life. I kind of want to think I have the same mind set. The whole poem just really appeals to me really.

True Friendship By, William S. Tsoukalas, Sr.

The feeling of friendship from the start
Is that special feeling in your heart
A feeling from deep down inside
A feeling that no one should hide
A friend is there through good and bad
They make you happy when you're sad
they brighten up your darkest day
Just by the simple thing's they say
Now friendship can't be bought or sold
It may get tarnished, and may get old
You can over come your greatest fear
Just look around and it is there
Now friendship's one and only cost
Is to make sure that it's never lost

Not all friendships are meant to be or last. But for the ones that are can be an amazing thing. The few people that you would do anything for. I picked this poem because it expresses everything I would to a friend. It shows that they will always be my friend.

I Do Not Love You Except Because I Love You By, Pablo Neruda

I do not love you except because I love you;
I go from loving to not loving you,
From waiting to not waiting for you
My heart moves from cold to fire.

I love you only because it's you the one I love;
I hate you deeply, and hating you
Bend to you, and the measure of my changing love for you
Is that I do not see you but love you blindly.

Maybe January light will consume
My heart with its cruel
Ray, stealing my key to true calm.

In this part of the story I am the one who
Dies, the only one, and I will die of love because I love you,
Because I love you, Love, in fire and blood.

This poem shows that not all love is perfect. Yet, even though it isn't perfect it is still worth loving that person. I don't always get along with the people I love but I never stop loving them. And I never forget to make sure they still know I love them. Or with the person you feel in love with as well.
