         <description><![CDATA[<div>Over time the caucuses (a meeting at which local members of a political party give their preference among candidates running for office). Were criticized as failing to uphold the U.S. Constitution’s separation of powers because they made the selection of the president dependent on members of Congress.<br><br>Now, we have the electoral college, and the Electoral College is made up of 538 electors who cast votes to decide the President and Vice-President of the United States, for that election year. When people go to the polls on that Tuesday, they will be choosing which candidate receives their state's electors. Most of the time the electoral college will go with popular vote, but they do not have to. (Numbers as of 2012)...</div>]]></description>
