A pattern I noticed in ''Foul Shot'' was personification because the poet showed how the ball ''hesitated'' like a human hesitates.
I noticed a rhyming pattern in Casey at the Bat ''day play''. Some parallels between "Casey at the Bat" and "Foul Shot" are that they both show the last imprortant play of the game. Another parallel between the two poems is they have alliteration ''sickly silence'' ''wavers weaver'' My third parallel is both crowds were worried. My final parallel is they both involve sports. There are many similarities between "Foul Shot" and "Casey at bat". In line four of both poems, it describes the mood of the audience. In "Casey at bat", it says" a sickly silence fell upon the patrons of the game", as if to say that the crowd didn't like how the game was going. Another similarity is that both of the poems start out with a score. In "Casey at bat", it was 4 to 2 with the other team in the lead, and in "Foul Shot", it was tied at 60. Also, in both poems, they are both sports, baseball and basketball. Another parallel was that both teams were nervous at the start. In foul shot it was "Squeezed by silence," and in "Casey at bat", the team was nervous because the people that were before Casey "weren't good" even though both of them made it onto a base. Another similarity between the two poems was that both the person in "Foul Shot", and Casey were not nervous. In "Foul Shot", it said that he was sullen, serious. "Casey at the Bat" also shows suspense, but is about a prideful baseball pro that strikes out. It explains that there is happiness somewhere in the world. but there is no joy in the city that Casey plays for. Both of the poems show great suspense and nervousness for there team. Infact both of the teams in both of the poems are showing suspense. The team that the author is against would be hopeful that Casey and the basketball player doesn't get the winning shot and the other team hopes that they do get the winning shot. They also both have repetition in stanza 2 lines 10-12 (Foul Shot) and stanza 6 lines 1-2 (Casey at the Bat).

The Poem "Foul Shot" is about a basketball game that is won by a foul shot. The poem "Foul Shot" has many parallels to "Casey at Bat". First of all the poems both have alliteration. In "Casey at Bat" it shows alliteration by saying "Sickly Silence". In "Foul Shot" it says "Lands, Leans", and "Wobbles, Wavers". Another obvious pattern is that they are both sports. In "Casey at Bat" it shows it is baseball by saying "Mighty Casey has struck out", and you don't strike out in any other sport besides baseball. In "Foul Shot" it shows its basketball by saying "dives down and through", and that shows that it is basketball because only a basketball can dive down and through.
Another parallel I found was they both build up to the final moment. In "Casey at Bat" it says "And now the pitcher holds the ball, and now he lets it go,
And now the air is shattered by the force of Casey’s blow", and that builds it up to what happens in the end. In "Foul Shot" it says "The ball Slides up and out, Lands,Leans,Wobbles,Wavers,Hesitates,
Plays it coy Until every face begs with unsounding screams And then And then
And then, Right before ROAR-UP, Dives down and through", and that is how "Foul Shot" Builds it up.

In Conclusion "Foul Shot" And "Casey at Bat" are parallel because they both have alliteration, there both sports, and they both build up the moment until the last word.

The poem Foul shot was a 3 stanza poem that built action to the final shot in a basketball game. There were pattern in the poem that can connect to the poem Casey at bat. The first pattern I noticed was when in foul shot it was 60 to 60 with 2 seconds left in the game and in casey at bat it was where Casey's team or team Mudville was losing by 2 points so in both poems it seems like the teams will tie or lose but not win. That's when the two poems split up and take different paths because in Foul shot they win the game last second and toi differ in foul shot Casey loses the game or strikes out. Next Foul shot has repetition such as and then and then and then and casey at bat says mighty Casey mighty Casey and, in comparison Foul Shot has alliteration like breathes crouches waits and in Casey at Bat it says sickly silence, So both poems have repetition, alliteration and they both show suspense and or everybody doesn't know weather to feel melancholy or to feel joyus.

The poem Foul shot is about a boy that has a game winning pass at the foul line. Casey at bat is about someone who lets down his team and loses. They are similar and different.They both use repetition, foul shot says "and then" twice casey at bat keeps saying "mighty casey at bat" Foul shot has alliteration it says "lands, leans, wobbles,wavers.A difference is in one they loose and in one they win.

The poems "Foul Shot" and " Casey at Bat" have many patterns in common. One pattern is alliteration for example, Casey at Bat uses sickly silence. And foul shot uses lands leans. Another pattern is that each poem uses personification. In "Foul Shot" it says lands, leans, wobbles, wavers, hesitates and plays coy. In " Casey at Bat" it says lulu and latter was a cake. Those are the patterns in "Casey at Bat" and "Foul Shot" .

"Foul shot" is about a boy making a shot and it made it in. "Casey at the bat" is about the mudville nine having their best player do the winning swing and then he misses. The patterns I found in "Foul Shot" were alliteration because of Squeezed , seeks and soothes. Also I found repetition because the author said and then, and then, and then. I also found personification because the ball played it coy. "Foul shot" and "Casey at the bat" have parallels because they both are about a winning shot or swing. In both poems , the authors wanted to build up excitement for the ending.
