Title - Tree dance, rock music and a dramatic doctor.
Experience -1 summery and rationale (Dance) -I have planned a dancing activity connecting to my assessment task 2 and the name of this experience is tree dance. In assessment task 2 I experienced dance of leaves with the wind to extend this experience I took my niece (Liyana) outside and tried to show her how plants are moving because of heavy wind after we came back inside we did tree dance just like we saw the tree and plants moving outside. Liyana was holding her hand and tried to stand tall and to show the movement of trees she moved from side to side. we really enjoyed our dancing tree experience.
Reflection -

what went as expected? - During the experience the way we decided to dance that went as expected we exactly copied the tree pose from a yoga posture and by adding movement to it we made it our own tree dance.
what did not go as expected?- In my opinion in this experience everything went well as expected and during the experience liyana and I enjoyed a lot.
what might you do different next time?- we would try to see things in different perspective next time so that we can bring out something more creative lout of the experience.

Reference to unit resource - this experience connects to Mutton Bird ( Bangarra Education Resources | Video | Session 2) because In mutton bird video the artists conveyed different feelings and meaning through their dance movement and in our dancing experience we also tried to convey the message how trees moves with wind.

Title - Tree dance, rock music and a dramatic doctor.
Experience -2 summery and rationale (Music) -I have planned a Musical activity connecting to my assessment task 2 and the name of this experience is rock music as we used natural material (rock and pine cones). To me music is a language itself. In assessment task 2 I experienced music of wind with the moving of leaves branches and other natural recources.to extend this experience my niece (Liyana) and I collected rock and pine cones from outside .we tried to make music out of those natural materials. We used a small steel cooking pot and put natural materials on it and used it as a shaker to make our own musical language. Liyana was very excited while we were collecting rocks and pine cones she held the shaker enthusiastically and shaked it to make sound of her own choice.She moved the shaker side to side and sometimes front to back to enjoy the magic of music.We also extended this experience by playing a ukelele to make music afterwords.
Reflection -

what went as expected? - During the experience the way we decided to collect the natural material went as expected Liyana was very excited to hunt for the natural materials.
what did not go as expected?- in this experience we wanted to make a rain maker but according to liyana's interest we made a natural shaker instead.
what might you do different next time?- we would try to make different musical instrument out of natural recourses to explore the creativity in us.

In our experience as well we didn't think of right or wrong way when we made our own music.

Title - Tree dance, rock music and a dramatic doctor.
Experience -3 summery and rationale (Drama) -I have planned a dramatic activity connecting to my assessment task 2 and the name of this experience is a dramatic doctor as My niece acted as a doctor. In assessment task 2 I experienced an illusion of grey sunset in that experience the drama was sunset was orange but still it looked grey to me because of grey cloud moving over the sun. In my planned activity also there is drama me and Liyana was playing and she said her doll is not feeling well so to extend my previous dramatic experience we decided to do a dramatic play called a dramatic doctor and check the doll if it is feeling ok.To execute the plan we used our pretend doctor set and Liyana checked the dolls whole body thoroughly after checking she decided the doll is not well and she wrote down some medicines for her .Through this dramatic experience Liyana has showed showed her sense of caring.
Reflection -

what went as expected? - During the experience Liyana enjoyed pretending as a doctor and she was very excited to be part of the experience .The dramatic experience went very well.
what did not go as expected?- in this experience I feel everything went well because it has created drama in the form of pretend play.
what might you do different next time?- we would try to engage in different pretend play or dramatic experience to bring out our creativity.

summery of learning (session 5) - Session 5 is about connecting to places when creating or playing with music movement and drama. the session also contains a wonderful welcoming video. In this session we can can learn the importance of listening for our musicality.
Listening is such a skill that requires practice. Listening guides us to relate to the environment around us. It helps us to open all our senses. The session also gives us idea about 8 sensory system and how children engages all their senses through music movement and drama. Session 5 also covers the topic "children, Creative play and the natural environment which resonates with me the most where the author Wilson R explained outdoor environment creates endless opportunity for children to explore their imagination. I also believe in outdoor environment children gets lot of opportunity to explore the environment as well as the explores all their senses.
Before starting the session I was excited to get to know about the connection between place music movement and drama. After starting the unit I have gathered knowledge about importance of listening and natural environment for children and I want to reflect this in my practice as an early childhood teacher. I want to create opportunity for children to engage more in outdoor spaces so that they can learn to explore all their senses.

summery of learning (session 6)- session 6 is about connection to place with movement.
Movement and dance-play activities encourage young children to practice balance and motor skills while stretching the imagination. As dancers, children explore space and time in active experiences, sharing feelings and making decisions about intentional movement. Children need opportunities to touch and sense through a changing landscape to feel all their senses.
In this session we also learned how a place can impact our movement and how we can make our own movement according to our mood. This session also covers how children can use imaginary play with movement such as shadow dance, prop dance etc.
This session also covers the topic Lake cowal bird dance which is a dance in traditional Aboriginal place and it was home to many endangered species. In my opinion the video lake cowel bird dance represents those endanger spicies and i have resonated with this video the most because through this dance people have tried to keep the aboriginal place and culture alive.
through this session I have learned about different movents in different places and also about aboriginal culture.
In my practice as an Early childhood teacher I would try to incorporate different movement activities in different places.

Summery of learning (session 7) - session 7 is about connecting to place with drama.
This session gives idea about the importance of pretend play in natural environment.Children are natural players, imaginers and connectors of nature. Children can spend hours outside with nothing more than the environment to sustain them and perhaps some courtesy fruit and water! Sometimes they want to play for play sakes and sometimes they want to share with others, even putting on 'shows' for adults and other children.). According to a study done in early 2016, the more complex and detailed a young child’s pretend play is, the more advanced their cognitive processing needs to be—as their play stretches and grows, so do their brains (Li, Hestenes & Wang, 2016). The same goes for social skills—when preschool-aged children participate in pretend play that requires more complicated interactions with their peers (cooperation, collaboration, sharing, negotiating) they are practicing and strengthening their abilities to connect to other people in healthy, productive ways. Pretend play or dramatic play in natural setting helps children develop in every way. The recourse from this session I resonate the most is "Lets play outside" because as it is discussed in the video I also believe children develops differently when they do pretend play any kind of play outside they can also find various loose parts while playing outside which can engage them in different dramatic play.
Before starting this session I was excited to learn more about drama after starting the session i learned the connection between places and drama and I also learned the importance of natural environment in dramatic play.
As an educator I would try to emplement dramatic play opportunities for children in outdoor environment.

Summery of learning (session 8)- session 8 is about connecting to place with all language combined ( music ,movement,drama).
the session also covers the topic how we can create foley art and also how sound affects young children.
This session also covers the silent story telling which is conveying message using body language. It also teaches us the difference between story book reading and story telling for young children .This session has covered all different languages together.
As an educator I would try to create opportunity for children to engage in musical, movement and dramatic experiences in their environment.

This unit explored how the temporal arts of music, movement and drama are a critically important feature of children’s learning. Creating different opportunities for children to express and explore with and through the aural and kinaesthetic languages in early childhood education creates different possibilities for children’s learning.
This unit gives idea about arts based pedagogies which happens in educational spaces.
through this unit I understood if we give opportunity to children to explore their environment through outdoor play movements, we create different specific opportunities for children to move.
similarly if we give children the space to generate meaning making through sounds, we create different ways of understanding our places through the aural.
as an educator If we understand that movement, music and drama is about children’s relationships with peers and materials, we create other different, but specific, opportunities for children to move, sing and play, to develop these relationships.
Overall this unit has made me understand how we can use music movement and drama for children's development and how we can connect to places at the same time.
