Recyclable packaging across all areas of our business, from our core products to licensed products made by our partners. At present, 93% of our packaging by weight is made from paper, cardboard and other paper-based materials. We are reducing single-use plastic and introducing paper-based bags in all our LEGO® sets, and are working hard to make this transition across all our factories.

In addition to this, the company will invest in developing more sustainable bricks and packaging, with the family-owned firm looking to increase its use of so-called “bio-bricks” made from materials like sugar cane. For reducing the waste generated by its products, the company has expressed a desire to set up programs encouraging people to donate their pre-used bricks so that they can be re-used by ‘children in need of play.’

Partnership with WWF: The program intends to inspire a change in the way companies think about climate solutions. Together with WWF, we have set ambitious targets to ensure more sustainable means of producing LEGO® play experiences.

Lego Paper-Based Bags: The LEGO Group is committed to making all packaging more sustainable by 2025. Currently, 93% of packaging by weight is made from paper, cardboard, and other paper-based materials making the vast majority of LEGO packaging recyclable.
