The climate in the Galapagos is determined mostly by ocean currents. In general, from June to December, the cold Humboldt Current comes from the south and creates an inversion that traps a cold, humid mist called garúa near the ocean, which creates a cold and dry climate
The low season corresponds to the months of spring (May to June) and autumn (September and October). In these periods, tourism declines substantially and many cruise ships reduce their prices to attract more passengers.
