Description: The Calico Ryukin Goldfish is a fancy goldfish variety known for its rounded body, distinctive hump behind the head, and long flowing fins. Their colors are unique, with white bodies patterned by red, orange, and black spots, giving each individual fish a one of a kind appearance.

My fish lives in freshwater.

2. What are some things that you need to know about this type of water?

Three facts I found out about freshwater is that always dechlorinate tap water before adding it into the tank, maintain stable water temperature and pH levels, ensure proper filtration and regular water changes to remove waste and to maintain good water quality.

3. How much space does that fish usually have in its natural environment?

Ryukin Goldfish usually live in ponds in a natural environment.

I am planning on going with gravel, maybe slightly larger gravels.

Costs $15-25 for a medium, might not need to buy.

Silk/plastic plants- $5-15

Fish houses decorations- $10-20

It provides a day/night cycle, helps fish activity, and supports live plants if used.

I can have tank lighting, but they do not require intense lighting.

3. How often should you leave the light on?

If I get a light it need to be kept on for 8-10 hours a day.

It prevents fish from jumping out, reduces evaporation, keeps dust/debris out of the water.

Yes, I will need a hood cover.

Ryukin's natural temperature in the environment is between 65–72°F (18–22°C).

2. Do you think you will need a water heater?

We will not need a heater because it does not get really cold in the winter, so room temperature water will be good for the fish.

They need a canister filter or hang-on-back filter. They need powerful filtration because of their heavy waste production.

They typically need a minimum of 20 gallons for one Calico Ryukin Goldfish and add 10 gallons for any additional goldfish added.

2. Is there anything specific you need to add to your tank for them to get air?

Can add an air pump or bubbler to keep the oxygen levels high.
