One way was competition was created was when the Soviets put the first satellite into orbit. The second reason was when the Soviets put the first man in space. These both resulted in the U.S investing more time and money into the space race.

The third way was being the first to do something as the two biggest countries was a big deal. This created tension between the two countries.

The first was future moon landings. The space race paved the way for space exploration.

My 2nd comparison is better satellites resulted from the competition. After the tension lowered between them, they made a satellite together.

My last reason was the budget. Both countries invested a lot of money into the space race. Eventually both of them lowered the money they put into it.
