Our eTwinning journey has officially started! I presented our 'Tiny Treasures of Our Town' project to my students. They are very excited to learn about digital tools and cultural heritage!

With our students, we kicked off our first eTwinning project, called “Tiny Treasures of Our Town”. We introduced it in a fun and interactive way, and everyone was eager to take part. Our students are thrilled to explore this European network, get to know other schools, and share the little treasures of our culture while discovering those of others.

We’re ready to take our first steps on this amazing European adventure, full of learning, creativity, and cultural exchange! 🌍✨

During the video call, we also had the opportunity to meet the other students and learn about their projects. Our pupils were able to listen, ask questions, and share their work, making the meeting a very enriching experience, both linguistically and culturally.

We finished the session with a strong sense of European community and renewed motivation to keep working and discovering new ideas with our partner schools. We are very happy with how the project is progressing and are already looking forward to the next activity!

In our case, we chose a traditional recipe from our country, which will be the main element of our final product. To introduce the topic, we created Canva presentations, using images, colours, and attractive designs. We also recorded our voices to explain the content and make the presentation more engaging and personal.

We carried out the whole process working in groups, collaborating, sharing tasks, and combining ideas to create an original and effective result. It has been a great opportunity to learn how to communicate both visually and orally while preparing the path towards our final gastronomic product.

We are very excited about the work we’ve done and everything that is yet to come!

For this reason, we created two recipe books with traditional dishes from our country, as there are two sixth-grade classes. To present them, we worked in a written format and cooperatively in small groups. Once the recipes were finished, we put them together to create the two books, which are the final result of this first project.

Through this project, we have learned a lot. We have improved our teamwork and communication skills, as well as our writing and organization abilities. This project has helped us learn more about our culture and traditional food, and it has prepared us for future projects, as this is only the first of many more to come. Overall, it has been a very enriching and positive learning experience.

November eTwinning Activity: Introducing Ourselves and Choosing Our “Hidden Treasures”

In November, our students completed their first task as part of the eTwinning project. They created short videos in English to introduce themselves, mentioning their name, age, and the place where they live.

The students worked in small groups of 2, 3, or 4, which helped them collaborate, share ideas, and support each other. Through this fun and creative process, they practiced speaking English in a real communication context and became more confident using the language.

In the second part of the activity, each group chose a “Hidden Treasure” from their area to present in the coming months. Students discussed and selected places or elements they find special, such as historical landmarks, local traditions, or natural beauties.

• To explore and appreciate local culture

This activity was a great start to our eTwinning journey, full of creativity, cooperation, and enthusiasm!

Our students chose to explore and present the White Tower, one of the most important landmarks of Thessaloniki. They learned about its history, its role in the past, and its importance today as a symbol of the city.

Students visited the White Tower with their families and took their own photos. Back in the classroom, they shared their experiences and talked about what they saw and learned.

Working in groups, they used their photos to create short texts in English. They described their visit using simple sentences and organized their ideas into a beginning, middle, and end.

Finally, the students created digital presentations and videos. Through this process, they developed their language skills, creativity, and digital abilities, while also learning more about their local cultural heritage.

The fifth-grade A- classes are continuing the "Tiny Treasures of Our Town – 2025" project. In the final phase, the students presented Ostuni's specialties: orecchiette with turnip greens and the traditional local dance.

In addition to their enthusiasm for the activities, a strong intercultural curiosity emerged. Thanks to the European platform, the students discovered that food and dance are universal languages, effectively feeling like young citizens of the world.

Additionally, each school created a Kahoot to help evaluate what students have learned about the different countries. This made the learning process more interactive and engaging.

We have had a lot of fun, and it has been a very enjoyable and effective way to conclude our different projects.
