United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and other many other allied nations invaded Normandy, France. This happened June 6th, 1944. D-day became the largest invasion force and was the start of the allied operation that ultimately won World War II. This is significant because this brought land, air, and sea forces of the allied army's together and closed in on Germany since the Germans were fighting the Soviet Union on the other side. The operation's code name was OVERLORD.

After Britain's air raid on Berlin,Adolf Hitler ordered air attacks on important cities in Britain like London. This time was called the blitz after the german work blitzkrieg (lightning war). Since France surrendered Germany only had one main opponent left. Britain. Germany knew that their opponents navy was too good, so they had to attack from the air. In the end Britain won the battle and avoided invasion from germany.

The U.S was the one who conducted the Manhattan project, and it was supported by Canada and the U.K

It was conducted in 1942, in WW2.  It spanned three years of research and development. 

The manhattan project was a project that developed nuclear weapons for the first time.

The significance of the project was the development of atomic/ nuclear weapons, which led to the surrender of Japan, and are still used in Modern Warfare today.

An interesting fact is on the attack on pearl harbor led to the US entering World War 2 and people who survived pearl harbor when they die they can choose to be buried there.
