One of the most vivid allusions to the Bible that Mary Shelley makes is bringing of life to Earth by means of utilizing surrounding environments. Similar to how God fashioned Adam out of the dust and brought him up through the ground in Eden, Victor fashions his monster out of several deceased peoples' body parts from beneath their graves.

Victor defied natural law and science, two things he was filled with flaming passion for, to bring his monster to life and learn how to cheat death. However; he did not come to this without the "price" (influence) of his mother's death.
