For sure, you are currently thinking that this article is insane because it thinks that there is a right way to wear a watch. Technically, there is none. However, since people believe in tradition and to what is written in the history of watches, it is possible that there are some ways that you can properly wear a watch.

The Right Way to Wear a Watch

Here are four tips that you can follow to wear a watch the right way:

1. Wear it opposite the hand that you write with

When you base on tradition, wristwatches are usually worn on the opposite hand that you use to write. If you are a lefty, then you should wear your watch on your right wrist. While if you are a righty, then you should wear it on your left wrist.

If you follow this, you will feel more comfortable. Wearing your wristwatch on the same hand that you write with would make it difficult for you to write. Your wrist will glide easily on the surface as you write without a watch.

2. The watch should slide up and down your wrist a bit

This tip can be on the style-wise perspective. Always remember that your watch should not be too tight that your skin appears to be popping around it. It must not be too loose as well that it will feel off or that it will spin around as you move.

It has to be in between those two and you should base the tightness to your personal preference.

3. Wear it below your wrist bone

It solely depends on you where you will be placing your watch on your wrist. However, it is recommended that you wear it below your wrist bone.

The first reason is it looks better that way. You can try searching for watch models on the internet and notice that they are all wearing the watch below the wrist bone. The second reason is it will make you feel more comfortable. Wearing it below the wrist bone will allow the watch to slide up and down and it would not feel constrictive.

4. Wear it facing up

Some people wear their watches facing down, while some wear it facing up. It is also a personal preference but it is best to wear it facing up. Doing this can prevent unwanted scratches on the face of your watch.

With that said, protecting your watch from scratches is important. They look great when you keep them protected at all times even though you are not using it.

How To Take Care of Your Watch?

Since watches are investments so you should take care of it properly to make it last for a long time. But take note, that no matter what happens, never clean your watch’s interior because you might mess something up inside. It is best that you have it cleaned by a specialist.

Moreover, it is also important to invest in good quality protection for your watch. Found here are nice and quality products that can protect your watch.

If you want to know more about caring for your watch, you can check for more details.
