Externalizing the problem: the problem is not seen as a part of the client, but rather as an external force that has impacted their life. 

Deconstructing dominant narratives:  By examining the dominant narratives that shape the client's understanding of the world. 

Co-constructing new narratives:  Creating new narratives that align with the client's goals and values. The therapist works collaboratively with the client to construct new stories that empower and inspire them.

Identifying unique outcomes:  Unique outcomes refer to times when the client was able to cope with the problem.

Externalizing strengths and resources: This allows client to view their strengths and resources as separate from themselves, to build their confidence and resilience.

Re-authoring the story: To create a new and more empowering narrative to help the client to take control of their life story and move towards their goals.
