In the southern United States, there are many states that get adequate rainfall every day. But researchers have now studied that thunderstorms have higher concentrations of mercury in their clouds and rainfall. This can cause significant damage to the soil in the ground. So far there has been no cause of this. But researchers are trying to find the cause.
Credit:Lightning strikes: Thunderstorms spread mercury pollution. (2016). ScienceDaily.
