Concept videos can vary greatly in relation to their link to the music, lyrics and beat, they can be completely unrelated, in opposition or directly linked to the song. Typically we see a concept based music video featured on electronic music such as EDM, house and 'DJ mixes', however concept based videos can fit such a broad range of genres of music it enables this style of music video to be utilized in any part of the music industry.

Unlike the other types of music video, this style enables a music directory to create a video/story line that much closely reflects the meaning or story that is being told within the lyrics of the song, therefore these can strong emphasize previous emotions or  life events that the artist may have experienced.
