He makes videos online and posts them on the internet helping to raise awareness for the starving children. Sometimes, he will make vidoes of himself animating and playing video games for the audience to donate some money. When a certain amount of money was donated, he will where a cosplay to show his appreciation and thank everyone profusely. He will also donate some clothes every few days to charity so that little children can be happy. I remember there was once I saw my elderly neighbour struggling with bags of groceries, without hesitation, I went to her and help her carried the bags of groceries. It is quite convenient as I am living the same level as her, so I went to help her put the bags of groceries on the floor.

After lunch I decided to take public transport home. I still remember the bus was coming in 3 minutes so I decided to walk quickly to the bus stop.But an old auntie , about 60-70years old was in my way. I tried to move to the other side but the corridor was too small. I was really annoyed as the old auntie was walking slowly so I decided to squeeze through the corridor. Since it was too small, I accidentally bumped into the old auntie. All the groceries she was carrying fell on the floor. I turned around, apologised and started picking up the things that were on the floor. I even offered to pay for some of the broken items as well as helping her carry some of her groceries to the mrt station. Every year, we would go to Myanmar and give offering to monks. It always takes place in December. My extended family will always give offering to at least 500 monks every December. We would give them some money, pens, notebooks, tooth brush, tooth paste, medicine, food and all the necessary items. My aunt would also call nuns and feed them food in her house next to her big house where she stays. Believe it or not, most of the nuns where very young, from ages 6 to 15! After giving offerings to the monks and nuns, we might have some food, medicine, money and more stuff left. My family were planning to just leave it in the storage room. However, I told them to go and give the items and food to the homeless on the streets or to the less fortunate. They think it was actually a great idea and did what i told them. Giving food and necessary items to the homeless and the less fortunate made them happy. Some of them were smiling and crying in tears of joy. They were actually thinking if they were even going to eat or starve at night. However, after I gave them the items and food, they were delighted. I was so happy to them. There was once my family had some extra food after moving houses. We decided to give some to our neighbors who were elderly. They were touched we had come back to our old home just to give them some extra food we had. we also had visited their home after we moved just to check in with them and eat together. It was a great time to see them again despite living far from each other now. There was once me and my family decided to help to distribute food to households living near the Buona Vista community centre. It was during the period of Hari Raya and the Buona Vista community centre was distributing food to some nearby blocks for the Hari Raya celebration. When we finished distributing the food,I felt exhausted and just wanted to lay on my bed for the rest of the day, but I was totally proud of myself for just distributing to some households. I’d met some pretty nice people but also the ones who are rude. When I was taking the bus home from school, when I entered at the bus and sat at my seat, there was a old lady struggling to get on the bus. Dharaani was behind her and we waited for 5-8 seconds. During that experience, I learnt a lot of new things that led me to appreciate the little things that I have.

During that experience, I realized just how many people were in need of food and money, yet they could appreciate the little things they had, like having a roof over their heads (which were just small huts made of straw/plastic), or having family members they can rely on. Having been unappreciative of what I had at that point of time, did I realize how lucky I was to even have a source of education while thinking that school was unnecessary. I also realized that giving could give me more happiness than anything else.

I hope that after this pandemic ends, my family and I would be able to take part in these meaningful campaigns again.
