The government was no longer willing to help the industrial workers gain better working conditions, since the economy was changing from war-time to “back to normal”. This caused more fear of the Bolshevik revolution to happen. More hysteria being brought into play, leading racial discrimination to slip into the picture. African Americans were soon to be viewed as Bolsheviks; including the veterans. Blacks sought this as unjust, being motivated by public speakers such as W.E.B. DuBois, and the tensions worsened.
