Ramses II made the temple for people to worship him and the Gods because he wanted a deeper connection. He also built it because to bring peace offerings to the Gods to not make the world blow up. The Gods worshipped were a-Horakhty, the deified king Ramesses, and the gods Amun Ra and Ptah. Ramses II ordered the construction of the temples following the Battle of Kadesh, where the Pharaoh won a decisive battle and claimed a victory over the Hittites. Slaves also helped build the temple with Ramses II like it was a gathering.

The statue of Ramses II depicted him standing with the classical attire of a pharaoh. It was discovered by Giovanni Battista Caviglia in 1820. It was made from limestone and weighed around 83 tonnes. The statue was made because to remember that he was able to lead fierce battles to secure the Egyptian borders against the Nubians, Syrians, Libyans, and Hittites. They built this statue to show how pharaohs were supposed to rule Egypt. In 1955, the prime minister moved the statue to “Bab Al-Hadid Square” in Cairo.

Ramses II was an ambitious builder, responsible for numerous grand monuments throughout Egypt. He constructed vast temples, including the Ramesseum and the famous Abu Simbel temple. While Rameses II was a formidable military leader, he also recognized the importance of diplomacy and trade. He negotiated various peace treaties and alliances, including the first recorded peace treaty in history. Like many pharaohs, Ramses II sought to reinforce his divine authority and promote the worship of Egyptian gods. He built temples dedicated to various gods, and his own deification was an important aspect of his rule. Ramses II's reign left a lasting cultural legacy in Egypt. His extensive building projects, military victories, and diplomatic achievements solidified Egypt's status as a dominant power in the ancient world.
