What do I want to do for my career AND WHY?

Short Term Goal 1

S - Graduate by the end of the fall semester with honors.

M- Study at least two hours per day outside of the classroom to stay up to date on material.

A - Take a break from working my part time job to maximize the number of classes I can take to ensure I meet all the graduation requirements and can focus solely on those classes.

R - Obtaining my bachelors degree this year is a prerequisite for PA school.

T - This goal will be completed in December 2024.

Short Term Goal 2

S - Complete standardized testing required by PA school programs.

M - A daily study schedule will be made and strictly followed weeks prior to test day.

A - My personal schedule will be cleared to accommodate test preparation and to ensure optimal focus.

R - This step is relevant in the PA school application process to prove that I possess academic readiness.

T - This goal will be met prior to the end of December 2024.

Medium Term Goal 1

S - Financially prepare for PA school.

M - Keeping a detailed record of tuition and additional expenses to ensure every penny to be spent is accounted for.

A - Meet with financial advisor to get a final estimate of how much money needs to be taken out on a loan.

R - Being financially prepared early on in the process can alleviate the stress of unexpected expenses occurring in the future.

T - This goal will begin once invitation to a PA program has been received and then this goal will be finalized two weeks prior to program start date in May 2025.

Medium Term Goal 2

S - Find an apartment in the location of the PA school.

M - A detailed record of each apartment will be kept and a pros and cons list will be made.

A - I will start looking around early to avoid waiting until the last minute and settling on something not worth the money.

R - Finding the ideal apartment will improve quality of life and make the transition easier.

T - This goal will be met no later than three weeks prior to the program starting.

Long Term Goal 1

S - Prepare to take the PANCE exam to officially become a licensed Physician Assistant.

M - Schedule at least 3 hours per day studying for PANCE exam during the second year of PA school.

A - Limit social activities such as hanging out with friends to prioritize studying.

R - The more time spent on preparing for the PANCE exam, the higher chance I have of passing.

T - The PANCE exam will be taken after graduating from the PA program.

Long Term Goal 2

S - Find employment in desired specialty after obtaining license.

M - Resume will be sent out to physicians in my desired specialty who may be interested in hiring a PA during the first month of becoming licensed.

A - Craft a hearty resume that will grab the attention of physicians and showcase my abilities of being a PA. This will land me a job.

R - Finding employment in my desired specialty rather than any specialty increases my chances of staying on board with one physician for a long time.

T - This goal will be met two months after obtaining license.
