His father, Dumitru Bilcescu, had been in charge of finances in the reign of Prince Barbu Știrbey. However, it was a mother, a convinced feminist, who accompanied her to Paris after Sarmiza obtained a place at the university in 1884.
Although she never got to practice, because there was no one who wanted to hire her, she carried out many area studies in favor of feminism and the role of women in the field.
